2. Athirappilly Falls

HolidayIQ Traveller Joji says, "I have been to the waterfalls several times but this time it was special. Facilities to see the beauty of the water falls and surroundings and security measures have been implemented and we could have a clear view of the water falls and surroundings. Because of the monsoon the water flow was heavy which intensified the beauty of the waterfalls. We could go very near to the waterfall without fear because of the fencing and narrow path to the bottom of the waterfall was also remodeled. Really we enjoyed the few hours spend here."

HolidayIQ Traveller Bidyut says, "The isolated and eco-friendly place definitely help you get the change you always wanted. The family get knitted in togetherness as there is nothing much to do that you usually do in a city and hardly get time to indulge among each other. Nature, the beauty of the place makes you relax. A worthy place to visit for a short family vacation, to appreciate nature, to get a change from the routine city life and if you feel like can choose to be adventurous. A place very ideal for leisurely activities."

5. Chinnakallar

HolidayIQ Traveller Joji says, "Chinna Kallar is one such spot which we can't miss while visiting the tourist attractions near Valparai. Situated about 25 Kms from Valparai, Chinnakallar is known as the Cherrapunji of Tamil Nadu because of the maximum rainfall received and when we visited this month the area was completely wet and covered with mist most of the time. Chinnakallar is full of greenish dense forest with tall majestic trees which give a pleasant feeling. We had to pay Rs. 100/ to enter the area and were warned by the forest officials that the wild elephants were crossing the road. It added to the thrill, we saw few elephants and had to stop the car for nearly an hour. The Chinnakallar falls, hanging bridge, the wild animals all gave a memorable experience. Because of the mist and the warning about the elephants on the road, we drove slowly and the trip took more time than what we planned. But the feel was tremendous and we are planning to visit the place again in few months."

You can hear a stream of water flowing across at the very bottom, but it is extremely difficult to reach there. The natural flora and fauna gives a thrill to the nature lovers."

8. Sunderbans

HolidayIQ Traveller Amit, "Nestled in the lap of nature, you'll soon forget that a world outside even exists. Take a cruise on the river and lose yourself in the calm water. With the sun beating down on you, the entire place is nearly hypnotic! The food available is rustic, and the people are a little wary of travellers. But this is a must for any wildlife enthusiast! The local wildlife sanctuary is a treat to visit, and you can spot a few wild animals there too!"
