1. Elephant Valley, Kodaikanal

HolidayIQ Traveller Devasena Chandrashekhar from Adoor shares, “Tucked away from the crowds of kodaikanal. Elephant valley is about 20kms from Kodai, at perumal Malai. The place is beautiful and serene, lush vegetation with a perennial stream running through the resort. The service is very good and the continental food is outstanding. However, the food pricing seems a bit steep, comparable to any good restaurant in a big city. The rooms are very nice and done up well-in ethnic style, but the maintenance can be better. While rooms are clean, the wear and tear is beginning to tell. We stayed at the Gangavaram cottage which was close to the restaurant area but yet not public. Good trekking options around.”

2. The Tamara, Coorg

HolidayIQ Traveller Maheshwari shares, “I had heard a lot about the Tamara before I decided to go to Coorg. Though I felt it was a bit expensive it was worth every paisa we paid. The drive to the resort on the cement road and the welcome we received was a pleasant surprise. The cottages which are built entirely with wood are very unique (it has to be seen to be believed ). The open balcony with an excellent view mesmerized us. The restaurant with a glass bottom and the indoor games, rooms are built in a breathtaking location. The picnic spot with the falls and the coffee making experience caught us by surprise. The only thing we were disappointed was the inability to get an appointment at the spa. The resort is located on a hill top in a coffee estate with a wonderful view all round.”

6. Tree House Hideaway, Bandhavgarh

source: treehousehideaway.com
HolidayIQ Traveller Pritho Saxena from Gurgaon shares, “Treehouse is a wonderful concept delightfully implemented! It\'s a must stay! Getting there is a bit tough, but the location and the actual rooms make it worthwhile. The company of the manager (Aditya) and the partner (Danny, he also couples up as a naturalist) is enjoyable. Bandhavgarh is the best place to sight tigers and we did get lucky, seeing six tigers in three days. Hey we even saw a pug mark in the resort ground! Nothing much to do in the night, the safaris remain the focus of the trip. The staff at the Tree House will go out of their ways to make your stay special, ask for a picnic by the pond or even a bon-fire, they are ready to oblige.”

9. The Nest Cottage, Nainital

source: triphimalayas.com
HolidayIQ Traveller Kanika Grotra from Gurgaon shares, “We went there to enjoy the scenic beauty of Nainital. The cottages were as good as they looked in pictures. But you can't say that the hotel was value for money. No television was provided at the room, nothing to entertain the guests, no toothpaste brush were provided. No room service was there, If you want something, you can order it but you have to go to kitchen to take it up. Poor room service. In the end we ran out of cash, so there was no facility of card payments. One should visit the place if the above mentioned flaws are acceptable to them."
